A single low andiron that lifts logs just off the fire floor, hand-forged from recycled Italian railroad steel.
Marco Ferreri's low andiron is a single center piece: a long forged bar on short legs that cradles logs about 2.8" above the hearth so air can reach the fire. It is hand-forged in Italy from recycled railroad track and finished in blackened steel.

Why we carry it
We have been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and Ferro & Fuoco is a rare combination: a named designer, real hand-forging in Italy, and recycled steel, at a scale that suits everyday hearths.
Buy once: durability and care
Our advice (the distributor does not publish care instructions): dust the forged steel with a dry cloth and keep it dry. If a spot of surface rust appears, rub it with fine steel wool and a thin coat of paste wax. Let anything that has been near the fire cool before handling.

2.8" H × 18.9" W × 9.8" D (7 × 48 × 25 cm). This is Conmoto's published size for the low version. Our distributor lists 19" for height and depth, which matches the width, not the height.
Who designed the Ferro & Fuoco Andiron, low, and where is it made?
Marco Ferreri designed it for Conmoto, and it is made in Italy. Conmoto says the Ferro & Fuoco (A Ferro e Fuoco) pieces are hand-forged from recycled railway-track iron in a 500-year-old water-powered hammer mill, so each piece is slightly unique.
