A long table or kitchen island needs even light along its length, which spot pendants struggle to give. The Carpyen Lineal does it with one slim aluminum bar in an integrated 2700 K LED and a wide 120° beam.

Best Rooms and Placement

Pick a length slightly shorter than the table or island, leaving a few inches of space at each end. For a 6-ft table, the 62.2 in (158 cm) bar is a natural fit; the 71.7 in (182 cm) suits longer runs. In open offices and restaurants, hang two in parallel. Warm 2700 K light flatters food, wood and skin tones, and a wall switch circuit gives control.

Planning Notes

• Compare bar length to the table or island, and check the 252 cm (99.2 in) suspension height against your ceiling.
• Have a qualified electrician hardwire it and set the drop for your table height.

Designer and Maker

Gabriel Teixidó (born Barcelona, 1947) has worked as an industrial designer since 1970 and is known for practical, long-lasting designs; his honors include SIDI awards and several ADI-FAD Delta de Plata awards. Carpyen, founded in Barcelona in 1948, makes it in its own Barcelona workshops.
