The STAY sofa sits about 10" off the ground, closer to a floor cushion than a patio sofa, and that is the point: you sink into it. Seated, the 2-seat version measures 47.2" wide and the 3-seat version 70.9" wide, both 33.4" deep and 33.4" high. Lift the cushion off its metal bracket and it lies flat as a 47.2"-deep lounging pad, so one piece works as a sofa by day and a sunbed by the pool. The outer textile is water-repellent and UV-resistant, the EPS bead filling keeps its shape, and the whole sofa is light enough for two people to move. Choose Stone, Cloud or Coal.

The designers: kaschkasch

kaschkasch is a German design studio in Cologne, founded in 2011 by Florian Kallus (born 1983) and Sebastian Schneider (born 1985). The duo works across furniture, lighting and art direction for international brands and is known for simple, refined pieces that balance function and beauty. Their blomus work has won a Red Dot Award (ANI lamp, 2019) and, according to blomus, a German Design Award Special for the STAY outdoor range in 2021.

STAY is the blomus outdoor range we point customers to when they want lounge comfort without heavy frames: low, cushion-like pieces covered in a water-repellent, UV-resistant outdoor textile and filled with EPS beads, light enough to carry across the terrace. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

The outdoor textile is water-repellent and easy to clean; our advice is to brush off leaves and sand, wipe spills with a damp cloth and let the piece dry in the air. The double-layer base pairs a quick-drying, water-repellent cover with a waterproof inner layer that blomus says helps prevent mold. For the off-season, blomus recommends storing STAY under cover; made-to-measure zip-up STAY storage covers are sold separately.
