The designer: Nina Thöming

Nina Thöming (born 1984) is an industrial designer at Flöz Design, a German studio with a long partnership with blomus. She starts from research into how people actually use a space, then shapes objects that solve that need quietly. Her blomus work runs from the MODO, SONO and NEXIO bath lines to PILAR tableware and outdoor pieces such as CALMA.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. The titanium-coated MODO pieces are our pick for bathrooms that see hard use: the finish shrugs off scratches and moisture and keeps its color. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany: it started in 1921 with bicycle parts, turned to metal design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

Buy once: durability and care

Lift out the plastic tray and rinse it regularly. Wipe the holder with a soft cloth and mild bathroom cleaner; avoid abrasive pads so the titanium coating keeps its even finish.
