The designer: Nina Thöming

Nina Thöming (born 1984) is an industrial designer with Flöz Design, a German studio that has worked with blomus for about 15 years. She starts every project with research into what people actually need, then turns those findings into objects that are useful first and beautiful too. Her blomus work includes the MODO and SONO bathroom series and the PILAR tableware.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. MODO is the blomus bathroom series we recommend when someone wants every accessory to match: one clean design language, one set of finishes, and pieces that cover everything from the soap pump to the toilet brush. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

Buy once: durability and care

Wipe with a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water and dry it afterward to avoid water spots; skip abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners, which can mark the surface. For stubborn marks on stainless steel, use a stainless-steel cleaner. blomus describes the titanium coating on the colored and metallic finishes as durable and resistant to scratches and corrosion.
