Who designed it

Designed by studio blomus, the company’s in-house team of designers, product developers and engineers in Sundern, Germany. For FUUM the team chose one-piece crystal and a tint developed to last, in line with the blomus design DNA: honest materials, quiet forms and colors that endure.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. FUUM is crystal glassware drawn in one piece: bowl and stem are formed together, so there is no joint or seam, the glass is smooth to hold and, according to blomus, more resistant to breakage. The crystal is made in Italy and tinted in Germany with a water-based, organic color that blomus states is food safe and scratch resistant. Fungi has brown and rose hues; Smoke is a cool gray. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.
