About Blackjack Lighting and Stephen Blackman

Blackjack Lighting is a design- and technology-driven lighting maker based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, outside Chicago. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. The wave is pre-set to a maximum drop of 41.5 in, so it suits ceilings of about 10 ft and up; it can be lowered to 102 in overall for two-story spaces. Keep the lowest pendants at least 7 ft above walkways.

How is it mounted?

At 200 lb, the canopy must be fastened to structural blocking, not just a junction box. A qualified electrician or contractor should install it using the instructions above.

Can I change the wave shape?
