About Blackjack Lighting and Stephen Blackman

Blackjack Lighting is a design- and technology-driven lighting maker based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, outside Chicago. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. What ceiling structure does the SNF need?

The fixture weighs 195 lb (88.5 kg), so it needs blocking or structural support in the ceiling. Plan the mounting with your electrician or contractor before installation.

Can the driver be located away from the fixture?

Yes. The standard version has its driver in the canopy; a remote driver location is available from Blackjack on request.

Is it bright enough to be the only light in a large room?

Will it work with my dimmer?
