Hang one alone, line several up along a window bar, or cluster all three sizes at staggered heights in a lobby, restaurant or open-plan home. The look fits Scandinavian, Mid-Century, Transitional and Modern rooms.

The glossy white acrylic sphere hides the bulb completely and turns it into a soft, even glow in every direction, so the room feels lit rather than spotlit. The E26 socket takes an ordinary A-shape bulb, up to a 12 W LED, which keeps running costs and replacement simple. Each globe arrives with a 12-inch stem and a slim cable on a 5-inch canopy, in Matte Black for a crisp outline or White for a globe that seems to float.

About Blackjack Lighting and Stephen Blackman

Blackjack Lighting is a design- and technology-driven lighting maker based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, outside Chicago. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. His focus has always been practical, and Snowball is the simplest expression of it: one well-proportioned globe, three sizes and hardware that disappears.

Which size should I choose?

As a guide, pick a globe about one-third to one-half the width of the table below it: 12 in for small tables, bedsides and powder rooms, 16 in for most dining tables and nooks, 20 in for large tables, stairwells and tall rooms.

How high should it hang?

About 30 to 36 inches above a dining table, and with at least 7 feet of clearance over walkways. The cable sets the overall height from 26 inches up to 104 to 112 inches depending on size, and can be shortened on site.

Can I mix sizes in one group?

Yes. All three sizes use the same canopy, socket and cable finishes, so they read as one family when hung together at different heights.

What bulb does it need, and can it be dimmed?

A standard E26 A-shape lamp, up to a 12 W self-ballasted LED. Use a dimmable LED bulb with a compatible wall dimmer for dimming. The bulb is not included.

Will it hang from a sloped ceiling?
