Its tapered, spun aluminum shade is painted outside and lined with a warm metal finish inside, so the shade glows copper or gold when the light is on. About Blackjack Lighting and Stephen Blackman

Blackjack Lighting is a design- and technology-driven lighting maker based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, outside Chicago. It is led by industrial designer Stephen Blackman, its President and Chief Design Officer. A Syracuse University industrial design graduate, he entered the lighting industry in 1984 at Sonneman Design Group and founded his own studio, Blackman Design Associates, in 1988, designing for manufacturers such as Kichler Lighting before launching Blackjack in 2013. How many Bullet pendants should I use over a kitchen island?

For the 4 in size, plan three to five evenly spaced along the island. The 8 in size covers more surface, so two or three usually do the job. Hang the shade bottoms 30 to 36 in (76 to 91 cm) above the counter and leave at least 6 in from each end.

Which size should I choose?

Choose the 4 in for rows, clusters and bedside use where you want small accents. Choose the 8 in when one or two pendants need to light a table, a desk or an entry on their own; it gives about three times the light.

What kind of ceiling box does it need?

Each pendant mounts over a standard ceiling junction box. The 5 in canopy holds its own 120-277V driver, so no remote transformer is needed.

Will it work with my dimmer?
