This is the cable-hung version of Besa Lighting’s Wave 10, a globe of clear handcrafted glass wrapped in a spiral of glass rope. The rope-wrapped globe is the same one Besa offers on its other mounts, 10 inches across and 9 inches tall, but the weight is carried by a single 10-foot aircraft-quality stainless steel cable with a 10-foot AWM power cord alongside, under a 5-inch dome canopy in plated stamped steel. It installs to a standard 4-inch box and suits sloped ceilings.

Wave is a globe of clear European blown glass with a romantic wrap of glass rope spiraling around the exterior; Clear shows the glass untinted, while Smoke and Amber are colored transparent blown glass, with Amber giving a warm, low-key glow. It takes a 60W A19 medium-base (E26) bulb of your choice (not included). The photos show the Wave 10 glass options; on this version the shade hangs from the stainless steel cable and dome canopy described above.

Best for

Tall and double-height rooms, lofts, commercial interiors, hospitality counters and anywhere a fine steel line looks cleaner than a cord. The Wave 10 itself suits kitchen islands and dining tables in groups of two or three, stair halls and entries where textured glass should catch the light. Related: Kristall 8 cable pendant.

Who this is not for

• Anyone who wants a rigid, swing-free drop: a stem holds the shade fixed.
• Anyone who prefers a flat canopy that sits tight to the ceiling: this version uses a 5" dome canopy.
• Anyone who needs every shade identical: handcrafted glass varies slightly.
• Outdoor porches and patios: it is rated for damp interior locations only.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and the cable Wave 10 gives architects and designers the tensioned-line look that suits modern, high-ceilinged spaces. Besa Lighting pairs American design with European glass artisanship: its shades are hand-blown by skilled artisans using techniques passed down for generations, then hand-inspected at Besa’s factory in Ohio for color, pattern, thickness and size before they ship.

Buy once: durability and care

With the power off and the shade cool, wipe the glass with a soft cloth lightly misted with glass cleaner (spray the cloth, not the fixture) and dust the cable and canopy with a dry microfiber cloth (our advice). Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.
