This is the stem-mount version of Besa Lighting’s Mira, a glass globe that tapers to a point. The globe is the same as on the cord pendant, 10 inches across and 7.75 inches tall, but it hangs from a plated steel stem kit: a telescoping section with up to 3 inches of adjustment plus 3", 6", 12" and 18" sections, 39 inches as standard and up to 10 feet with extra sections. A swivel at the 5-inch canopy lets the stem hang plumb under a sloped ceiling.

Clear shows the lamp, Frost diffuses it into an even glow, and Smoke tints the light and hides the lamp a little more. It takes a 60W T10 medium (E26)-base (E26) non-filament bulb of your choice (not included). The photos show the Mira glass options; on this version the shade hangs from the stem kit pictured in the drawing.

• Anyone who wants to fine-tune the height after installation without tools: the stem is set by assembling sections; the cord version is easier to adjust.

Buy once: durability and care

With the power off and the glass cool, wipe the shade with a soft cloth lightly misted with glass cleaner (spray the cloth, not the fixture) and dust the stem and canopy with a dry microfiber cloth (our advice). Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.
