Best for

Best for kitchen islands and home bars where you want to fine-tune the seat height. Allow about 24" of counter per stool and 10–12" between the seat and the counter or bar top (our guide). Leave a little extra room between swivel stools so they can turn freely.

Who this is not for

• Standard dining tables (28–30" high): the seat sits 35.4" off the floor, which is made for counters and bars.
• Anyone who wants back support: it is a backless stool, made for perching and quick meals rather than long sits.
• Anyone who needs more than the 385 lb weight capacity TOV lists.
• Outdoor use: this is indoor furniture; TOV makes separate outdoor stools.

Buy once: durability and care

Built with performance upholstery and handmade construction. TOV's care advice: blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth (rubbing can push a stain deeper), vacuum with an upholstery attachment, keep the stool out of direct sun to limit fading, and test any cleaner on a hidden spot first. TOV also notes that, depending on the fabric, some pilling or crushing of the pile can occur over time.
