The Aspen S17A is the compact size of B.lux's Aspen S pendant family (S17A, S17B and S40). Two matte aluminium shades sit on one cord, and you pick the top shade and the bottom shade separately. B.lux makes each pendant to order in Spain.

The shade stack is 6.75 inches wide and 13.25 inches tall, with a 5-inch round canopy. The cord allows a maximum hang height of 78 inches, so it suits a dining table, a kitchen island, a stairwell or a bedside corner.

Can the top and bottom shade be different colors?

Yes, that is the idea. Choose a Top shade and a Bottom shade from 23 matte aluminium finishes, the same or different. B.lux does not list every pairing: River, for example, is offered in only a handful, and a pairing that is not listed shows as unavailable.

Which bulb does it take, and is it dimmable?

One E26 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which is not included. B.lux does not list this version as dimmable, so please ask us before planning it for a dimmer.

How long does delivery take?

Do the photos show my exact color pairing?

How is the S17A different from the S17B and S40?

All three are the same double-shade pendant in different sizes. The S17A is the shorter of the two 17 cm versions at 13.25 inches high, the S17B is 17 inches high, and the S40 is the large size.

About the designer

Werner Aisslinger was born in Berlin in 1964. He is known for his focus on form and on new materials: he helped bring materials such as polyurethane foam into product design, and used it for the Hoodie luminaire he designed for B.lux (per B.lux).
