At 22.2" it is level with most sofa arms (24–26") and close to a mattress top (24–28"), so it also works as a nightstand (our guide). Best for

Best for patios, decks and covered porches as well as living rooms, bedrooms and entryways indoors. Set it within easy reach of the seat, roughly level with the sofa arm (24–26") or, beside a bed, close to the mattress top (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Low, deep lounge seating: at 22.2" it stands well above a 17–19" seat; it suits a sofa arm or a bedside better (our guide).
• Heavy loads: TOV rates the top for up to 90 lb.
• Anyone who wants a stain-proof surface: concrete is porous and should be wiped quickly and used with coasters (our advice).
• Anyone who wants to leave it uncovered in all weather: TOV recommends covering it during bad weather or when not in use.
