Best for

Best for the foot of a king or California king bed and entryways and hallways that need a seat with hidden storage. At the foot of a bed, a bench roughly 60–85% of the bed's width looks balanced; in an entryway, keep about 36" of walkway in front of it (our advice).

Who this is not for

• Anyone who wants back or arm support: it is a backless bench, made for perching, pulling on shoes or short sits rather than long lounging.
• Anyone who needs Cream within days: that option is currently on pre-order.
• Outdoor use: this is indoor furniture; keep it inside, away from rain and strong sun.

Buy once: durability and care

TOV's care advice: blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth (rubbing can push a stain deeper), vacuum with an upholstery attachment, keep the bench out of direct sun to limit fading, and test any cleaner on a hidden spot first. TOV also notes that, depending on the fabric, some pilling or crushing of the pile can occur over time.
