About the designer

Newilla was designed by Per Weiss in 2022. He has been Innovation Living's Chief Design Officer since 1989 and leads the creative development of every collection. His work follows the Scandinavian design tradition: durable pieces that suit the way people live now and make everyday life easier.

Best for

Apartments, studios and home offices where floor space is tight but a two-person bed is still needed. The built-in storage helps where closet space is short.

Who this is not for

• Anyone who needs a made-to-order fabric within days (those take 14–16 weeks; the standard fabrics are faster)
• Sleepers who want a firm mattress: Innovation Living rates this comfort as soft
• Rooms without about 79" of clear floor depth for the open bed
• Homes relying on a robot vacuum to clean underneath: floor clearance is only 1.6"
• Anyone wanting it delivered fully assembled: it arrives in boxes for home assembly

Why we carry it

We've been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and Innovation Living has been on our floor plan for most of that time. The company has made sofa beds in Denmark since 1971, publishes real measurements and weight ratings for every model, and backs them with a 5-year warranty. That is the kind of information we want you to have before you buy.

Buy once: durability and care

Vacuum the upholstery regularly, rotate and plump the back cushions, and treat spills right away by blotting rather than rubbing. Each fabric lists its own wash rules; machine-washable fabrics can go in at 86°F where the cover is removable. The frame and spring system are covered by Innovation Living's 5-year limited warranty. Frequently asked questions

What are the exact dimensions of the Newilla sofa bed?

As a sofa it measures 97" wide, 43" deep and 35" high, with a 17" seat height. Opened, the sleeping surface is 57" x 79" at 17" high. Leave room in front of the sofa for the bed to unfold. Innovation Living notes that seat, bed and mattress heights can vary by 0.4–1.2 inches because of the foam.

Will the Newilla sofa bed fit through my door and up the stairs?

It ships in 3 boxes and is assembled in your room using Innovation Living's model-specific assembly guide, which helps with narrow halls and stairwells. Measure doorways against the largest piece before ordering, and call us if you want help checking.

How long does the Newilla sofa bed take to arrive?

Standard fabrics: 1–3 weeks. Made-to-order fabrics: 14–16 weeks. Every other fabric is cut and sewn to order.

How much weight can the Newilla sofa bed hold?

Innovation Living rates it for up to 728 lbs. The base sits 1.6" off the floor.

How do I keep the Newilla sofa bed clean?

Follow Innovation Living's care guide for your fabric. Each fabric's composition, rub count and wash rules are listed on its swatch; many of the made-to-order fabrics are machine washable where the cover can be removed. A performance stain treatment can be added to made-to-order fabrics.

What warranty comes with the Newilla sofa bed?

A 5-year limited warranty from Innovation Living. Innovation Living tests its designs to European and global standards for durability, stability and safety.
