Carrie Fitzwater, an interior designer, kept meeting the same problem: the perfect spot for a lamp almost never had an outlet. Her husband Stephen, a product designer, built the answer. Since 2011 their Fort Worth company has supplied thousands of homes, restaurants, hotels and designers with cordless lamps that look like the real thing, because they are.

How does the Modern Lantern battery work?

A 12V lithium-ion pack is hidden in the base. It clicks out like a camera battery and charges on the included UL-listed wall charger, so the lamp never has to move to an outlet. The removable battery system is protected by US Patent 9,347,633.

How long do Modern Lantern lamps run on a charge?

Table lamps with the 7000 mAh pack run 28 to 32+ hours per charge (about 1–2 weeks of normal use). Mini lamps run 24 to 70+ hours depending on the light setting, and come with two battery packs.

Which Modern Lantern lamps are made in the USA?

The ceramic collection: Bartlett, Bella, Abbeygale, Elijah, Marilyn, Oliver and Norma Jean. Their stoneware bodies are hand glazed and fired in America and assembled in Fort Worth; they are custom built and ship in 2–3 weeks.
