Tom Rossau lamps are sculpture you can switch on: thin strips of birch, paper or nonwoven, twisted by hand in Copenhagen into shapes that hide the bulb and fill a room with soft light.
Tom Rossau grew up in Odsherred, on the curving north-west coast of Zealand that has drawn Danish painters for generations, and released his first lamps in 2005. The TR5, his first lamella lamp, began with an experiment: pressing wooden slats into a cylinder to see how they behaved. Twenty years on, every lamp is still made by one lamp builder in the company’s own workshop beside its flagship store on Frederiksberg Allé, and arrives with that builder’s signed card. We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Tom Rossau is one of the few makers whose pieces are genuinely handmade, start to finish.
The lamps we sell are US versions: 120V and UL listed. Sizes held in US stock ship in about 3 business days; made-to-order pieces are built for you in Copenhagen and delivered in about 10 weeks.
