Industrial designer Peter Ellis founded NEOZ in Sydney in 1983, and in 1995 the company introduced the world’s first professional cordless table lamp. More than three decades on, every lamp is still designed, engineered and hand-assembled at the NEOZ workshop in Terrey Hills, Sydney, and sold in more than 100 countries.

The cordless technology

Inside every lamp is the NEOZ N1 engine: Panasonic lithium-ion cells, a warm 2600K LED with high color rendering, and a touch dimmer. The lamp sits on a contact charging base that switches off by itself when the battery is full. Choose the Uno battery for homes, or Pro (Owl and Ritz) for nightly hospitality service. The battery, LED and every other part can be replaced, so the lamp outlives its cells.

Frequently asked questions

Who makes NEOZ cordless lamps?

NEOZ Pty Ltd of Terrey Hills, Sydney. Founded in 1983 by industrial designer Peter Ellis, the company launched the world’s first professional cordless table lamp in 1995 and still designs, engineers and hand-assembles its lamps in Australia.

How long does a NEOZ lamp run on one charge?

It depends on the model and battery: most lamps run from about 13 hours on high to 130 hours on low; Piccolo, Victoria, Manhattan, Cooee and Bellingen run up to 17 hours on high and 55 on low; the Pro battery (Owl and Ritz) reaches up to 310 hours on low. Each product page lists its own figures.

What is the difference between the Uno and Pro battery?

Pro is the long-service battery pack for restaurants, bars and hotels that light lamps every night: it runs far longer per charge than Uno. Uno suits homes and lighter use. Owl 1, 2, 3 and Ritz offer both.

Do I need to order the charging base?

Each lamp recharges on a NEOZ contact charging base. Choose “Charging Base: Included” unless you already own a compatible NEOZ base or a charging tray or trolley. Corner Light and Nimbus come with their base.

Can NEOZ lamps be used outdoors?

Piccolo and Nimbus are rated IP64, so they handle terrace tables and splashes. Glass and metal models such as Egg, Ice, Margarita, Owl, Cooee and Tall Poppy are IP52. Shaded models (Victoria, Albert, Ritz, Manhattan, Bellingen) are IP30 and belong indoors.

What warranty do NEOZ lamps carry?

Five years on lamps and chargers, with the battery covered for one year. Every component is replaceable, including the battery, which typically lasts three to five years, so a NEOZ lamp is built to be serviced, not thrown away.
