This is the cord-hung Besa Lighting Boca 5, a 12-volt mini pendant with a globe of clear solid glass. Boca is a globe of clear solid glass with an inner frosted tube that diffuses the light source. The concealed lamp shines through the solid glass and breaks into refractions. Boca 5 is the larger size, 4 inches across, in Clear or Bubble. The glass measures 4 inches across and 3.75 inches high. It hangs on a 10-foot field-adjustable coaxial cord with a Teflon jacket in a tint that matches the finish, under a flat canopy; you trim the cord to your drop at installation, and the canopy installs to a standard 4-inch octagonal box and suits sloped ceilings.

Choose Bubble or Clear. It runs on 12 volts with a 60-watt transformer included, and dimming needs an ELV dimmer (not included). Choose the LED version (a 3W dimmable source is included) or the halogen version, which takes one 35W maximum GY6.35 bipin T-shape lamp. Our photos show the Satin Nickel finish; the other finishes share the same glass.

Best for

Kitchens, dining rooms, bedsides, entries and reading nooks where each pendant should hang at its own height. The Boca 5 itself suits kitchen counters, dining tables and entries where a slightly larger solid-glass globe should sparkle. Who this is not for

• Bathrooms, showers, covered porches and patios: Besa rates the Boca 5 for dry interior locations only.
• Anyone who wants a rigid, perfectly vertical drop: a cord hangs and swings freely.
• Anyone with a standard wall dimmer who expects smooth dimming: the Boca 5 needs an ELV dimmer.
• Anyone who needs identical shades: handcrafted glass varies slightly.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and the cord Boca 5 is the most flexible way to hang it: you trim each drop on site, so every pendant in a run can be set to its exact height. Besa Lighting pairs American design with European glass artisanship: its shades are hand-blown by skilled artisans using techniques passed down for generations, then hand-inspected at Besa’s factory in Ohio for color, pattern, thickness and size before they ship.

Buy once: durability and care

With the power off and the glass cool, wipe it with a soft cloth lightly misted with glass cleaner (spray the cloth, not the fixture). Dust the cord and canopy with a dry cloth (our advice). Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.
