The design: studio blomus
studio blomus is the in-house design team at the blomus headquarters in Sundern, Germany. It develops many of the brand’s everyday pieces in close contact with the company’s own production know-how, which goes back to 1961, and keeps each series in the shared blomus color palette so pieces can be combined across collections.
Why we carry it
We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. RIVA is our everyday luxury towel: heavy 700 g/m² organic cotton terry with a fine border, in seven blomus colors from White to Magnet. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.
Buy once: durability and care
Machine washable. Wash with similar colors and skip fabric softener and optical brighteners, which coat the fibers and reduce absorbency; tumble-dry on low or line-dry so the cotton keeps its shape. The cotton is GOTS certified, which covers both organic farming and the way the finished towel is made.
