Besa Belu Ribbed Drum Glass LED Semi-Flush Mount Ceiling Light

A short ribbed drum of Clear or Smoke glass over a white inner shield, on a 5-inch canopy, with a replaceable, dimmable 5W LED: a semi-flush with texture and barely any drop.

• ✓ Ribbed drum glass
• ✓ Clear or Smoke
• ✓ Replaceable 5W LED
• ✓ CL dimmable
• ✓ Only 3.5" of glass
• ✓ Damp rated

The Besa Belu is a semi-flush ceiling light built around a ribbed drum glass shade: horizontal ribs on the outside, and an inner white acrylic shield that hides the lamp and gives the lit fixture its layered look. Clear shows the ribs most crisply and lets the white core glow through; Smoke tones the drum down to a soft grey by day and a warm glow by night. The drum is 7.875 inches across and only 3.5 inches high, so the fixture sits close to the ceiling. It is sized for hallways, entries, closets, bathrooms, bedrooms and laundry rooms.

Belu is LED only: a 5W replaceable LED lamp (GU24 base) is included and the fixture is CL dimmable, so there is no bulb hunt and no fixture to replace when the lamp ages. The 5-inch canopy and glass retainer come in Black, Bronze or Satin Nickel; Besa lists the overall height at about 7.75 inches from the ceiling.

Best for

Use the Belu in hallways, entries, closets, bathrooms, bedrooms and laundry rooms, and in a row down a long corridor. Besa also makes the Belu drum as cord and multi-light pendants. Related: Bombay optic globe, Sola 12 flush mount, Cue LED halo.

Who this is not for

• Outdoor porches, soffits or covered patios: it is rated for damp interior locations only.
• Anyone who wants to choose their own bulbs or an incandescent version: Belu is LED only.
• Large rooms that need a main light source: the 5W LED is a modest, atmospheric output.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Belu gives a small ceiling fixture real texture: the ribs catch the light, the white core keeps it soft, and it still sits almost flat. Besa Lighting pairs American design with European glass artisanship: its shades are hand-blown by skilled artisans using techniques passed down for generations, then hand-inspected at Besa’s factory in Ohio for color, pattern, thickness and size before they ship.

Buy once: durability and care

Switch off and let it cool, then wipe the glass with a soft cloth lightly dampened with mild soapy water and dry it; avoid abrasive cleaners (our advice). The LED lamp is replaceable (GU24 base). Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of the Besa Belu semi-flush?

The ribbed drum is 7.875 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches high on a 5-inch canopy, and Besa lists the overall height at about 7.75 inches from the ceiling. Each glass is handcrafted, so allow for slight variation.

Clear or Smoke: which Besa Belu glass should I choose?

Clear shows the ribs sharply and lets the white inner shield glow brightest; it suits lighter, crisper rooms. Smoke reads as a soft grey drum by day and a warmer, dimmer glow at night, the choice for moodier spaces.

What is the inner white shield in the Besa Belu?

A white acrylic cylinder inside the glass drum. It hides the LED lamp, spreads the light evenly and is what makes the ribbed glass look layered when lit.

Is the Besa Belu suitable for a bathroom ceiling?

Yes. Besa rates it for damp locations, interior use only, so it suits bathroom, laundry and powder-room ceilings. It is not rated for outdoor ceilings or direct water spray.

Can I replace the LED in the Besa Belu?

Yes: it uses a replaceable 5W LED lamp with a GU24 base (included), and the fixture is CL dimmable. There is no incandescent version.

How do I install the Besa Belu?

It is hardwired and installs directly to a standard 4" octagonal outlet box, centered on the fixture. Besa’s spec sheet is linked above, and we recommend a licensed electrician.
