Seat frame and base finishes

The Tiger Spider Swivel Chair is the work-ready Tiger: the welded wire seat turns on a cast aluminum spider base with splayed arms, on glides for dining or office casters for desks. With casters it rolls between a desk and a meeting table, making it a strong pick for home offices, studios and conference rooms that want something less corporate than a task chair. The base comes polished, black or brass, and the removable PPM-FR pad is easy to keep clean.

Planning notes

• On glides the seat is 19 in high; with casters it rises to 21 in.
• Use casters on hard floors or low-pile rugs; glides suit dining rooms.
• The seat swivels but does not adjust in height.
• The brass base and the caster option each carry a surcharge.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Glides keep the chair still at a dining table; office casters let it roll at a desk and raise the seat to 21 in.

Does the height adjust?

No. The base swivels but the seat height is fixed at 19 in, or 21 in with casters.

Is it a good desk chair?

For light or occasional desk work, yes, especially with casters. For long workdays, a chair with tilt and lumbar adjustment is better.
