Leg finishes

The Prisma Pyramid-MW keeps the splayed pyramid silhouette but builds the legs in steel, so they can be slimmer than solid wood while still looking warm. MW stands for metal and wood: the steel legs are wrapped in walnut or natural wood veneer and finished with a chrome footrest ring, or powder coated black with a brass ring for a darker, Glam look. The seat swivels on a plate above the legs, letting people turn toward the counter or the room. Inside, the Prisma seat is a sprung steel frame in molded foam under a removable slipcover.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters and kitchen islands; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the underside of the counter for knees, and about 22 in of counter edge per stool.
• Veneer-over-steel legs give a wood look with the strength of a metal base.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
