Seat and Back. Natural rattan cane is hand-woven plant fibre with a classic open mesh. Synthetic cane webbing copies the look in a weather-resistant woven material that suits outdoor use. The optional seat cushion is an outdoor fabric that is waterproof, durable and fade resistant.

Frame

The Pierre J. teak lounge armchair lowers the seat to 16 in and tilts the cane back for relaxed sitting, while the broad flat arms give somewhere to rest a book or a glass. In solid grade A Indonesian teak it suits a sunroom, a covered deck or a living room, and the open cane seat and back stay cool in warm weather. Choose natural rattan cane, or synthetic cane webbing for better weather resistance, and add the outdoor seat cushion for extra comfort. At 24 in wide it fits in pairs where a deep upholstered lounge chair would crowd the space.

Care

Solid teak is naturally oily and weather resistant. Indoors, dust it and wipe it with a damp cloth. Outdoors, rinse it with mild soapy water now and then; left untreated, teak weathers to a silver-grey patina, or a teak oil restores the honey tone. Keep natural cane out of standing water and bring it under cover in heavy rain or winter; synthetic cane webbing takes the weather better. Wash the outdoor cushion cover with mild soap and let it air dry.
