The Phuket is a low, armless sling chair: a slim teak frame leans back at a relaxed angle and holds a seat and back knitted from dark polyester rope. The contrast of pale teak and dark weave gives it a graphic, modern look on a pool deck or a lawn, and the open weave sheds water and dries fast. The frame is solid grade A teak with mortise and tenon joints, and the 16 in seat is made for lounging rather than dining. A waterproof outdoor seat cushion can be added for softer seating.

Care

Grade A teak is a naturally oily, weather-resistant hardwood. Left outdoors it slowly weathers to a soft silver-grey, and the grain may rise slightly after the first few soakings. Clean it once or twice a year with a soft brush, mild soap and water; never use a power washer, which erodes the surface. Teak cannot be painted or varnished. For winter storage use a dry shed or garage, and do not move the piece straight from the cold into a heated room, as sudden changes in temperature and humidity can split the wood. Rinse the rope weave with fresh water after pool or beach use and let it dry in the open.
