Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM and PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers; velvet, boucle and Camira Era are upholstery fabrics. Camira Blazer is a pure new wool, and full-grain leather is the top tier. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Pera Pyramid-MW keeps the swivel and the pyramid stance of the Pera Pyramid but builds the legs in steel, which is what lets it work in restaurants and offices as well as at home. The metal legs are finished in walnut or natural wood veneer with a chrome footrest, or in black powder coat with a brass footrest. Turning the seat lets guests face the counter or the room without dragging the stool. Above the base sits the sprung Pera seat, molded in polyurethane foam, with a removable Velcro slipcover.

Planning notes

• Counter (24 in seat) is for 35 to 37 in counters; Bar (29 in seat) is for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Swivel stools need extra elbow room: allow about 26 in of counter per stool.
• Leave 10 to 12 in of knee space under the counter.
• The veneer bases pair with wood cabinetry; the black and brass base suits dark or industrial kitchens.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

How is this different from the Pera Pyramid wood stool?

Both swivel on a four-leg pyramid. The Pyramid-MW legs are steel finished in wood veneer or black, so it suits commercial use; the Pera Pyramid has solid wood legs and is for homes.
