Finish. Solid grade A teak in a natural finish with a hand-woven Viro fiber rope seat and back. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

The Paramus brings the woven rope and teak look of the outdoor collection up to counter and bar height, for outdoor kitchens, pool bars and island seating indoors. Its solid grade A teak frame has a low back panel of woven rope that supports the lower back without blocking the view across the counter, and rails between the legs double as footrests. The rope is Viro fiber, which holds its tension and color in sun, rain and cold, so the stool can live outside year-round.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter (25 in seat) for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar (29 in seat) for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Allow about 22 in of counter edge per stool; the stool is 16 in wide.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the underside of the counter for knees.

Care

Grade A teak is a naturally oily, weather-resistant hardwood. Left outdoors it slowly weathers to a soft silver-grey, and the grain may rise slightly after the first few soakings. Clean it once or twice a year with a soft brush, mild soap and water; never use a power washer, which erodes the surface. Teak cannot be painted or varnished. For winter storage use a dry shed or garage, and do not move the piece straight from the cold into a heated room, as sudden changes in temperature and humidity can split the wood. Wipe the woven rope with a damp cloth and mild soap, rinse, and let it air-dry in the open.
