Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM and PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers, Camira Era is a woven contract fabric and Camira Yoredale is a looped boucle. The top tier is Camira Blazer wool or caramel Italian leather. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

Nova Black takes the same tailored Nova body and frames it in black powder-coated steel tube, a finish that hides scuffs and gives the chair an Industrial, gallery-like outline. The sled runners keep it steady and easy to slide on carpet, and the black frame disappears against dark floors so the upholstery color does the talking. It is a natural fit for loft apartments, studios, offices and restaurant lounges where chrome would feel too shiny. Inside, S-shaped springs in a molded foam seat and a loose back cushion keep it comfortable.

• Leave about 30 in in front of the chair for legs and traffic.
• Same size as Nova Chrome and Nova Wood, so you can mix finishes within one seating group.
• Shipping: in-stock lounge chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your upholstery and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Who it is not for

• Spaces that call for a warm wood base: see Nova Wood
• Swivel requirements: see Madison or Rebecca swivel models
• Outdoor use

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

How is the black base finished?

It is steel tube with a black powder-coat finish, which resists chips and scuffs better than paint.

Is it the same size as the chrome Nova?

Yes. Both are 29 in high, 28 in wide and 30.5 in deep with a 16.5 in seat.

Can I use it in an office?

Yes. It is built for commercial use, and PPM and Camira upholstery carry 5 to 10 year guarantees.

What is the weight capacity?

350 lb.

Why do prices differ between colors?

The upholstery tier sets the price: faux leather lowest, PPM and Camira fabrics in the middle, Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather highest.

Does the black sled show scuffs?

Less than chrome. Black powder coat is a tough, matte finish that hides everyday scuffs, which is why it suits busy offices and restaurants.
