Base finishes

Martini MW is the Martini bucket seat on a four-leg steel base with a footrest, offered in black, stainless steel, or steel wrapped in natural or walnut wood veneer. Order it fixed, or add the memory swivel mechanism: the seat turns when you sit and returns to face the counter when you stand, so a row of stools always looks lined up. The memory swivel raises the seat by about 1 in. It suits kitchen islands, restaurant counters and office cafés, and the seat is a steel frame with S-shaped springs in molded polyurethane foam under a removable Velcro slipcover.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• With the memory swivel, the seat sits about 1 in higher: roughly 24.5 in counter and 31 in bar.
• Allow about 24 in of counter per stool, or 26 in with the swivel.
• Stainless steel and black suit commercial settings; veneer bases are best where they will be wiped, not soaked.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
