Leg finishes

The Harput Sled Wood is a boxy, fully upholstered armchair on a solid wood sled: each side is a closed wooden frame that runs down from the arm, along the floor and back up, so the chair stands on two long runners instead of four legs. At dining height with a 17.5 in seat and arms that clear most table aprons, it works around dining tables, at restaurant banquettes, in conference rooms and as a desk chair. The runners slide easily on hard floors and do not sink into rugs, and the optional stretchers add cross-bracing for heavy commercial use. The seat is a steel frame with S-shaped springs molded in polyurethane foam under a Velcro-fastened faux leather slipcover.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Frequently asked questions

Will the arms fit under my table?

The arms are 25.5 in high. They slide under tables whose apron is about 26 in or more from the floor.

What does a sled base do?

The chair stands on two long wooden runners instead of four legs, so it glides on hard floors and does not dig into rugs.

Do I need the stretchers?

They are optional. Stretchers brace the frame and are a good choice for restaurant or other heavy daily use.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 350 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

All seats are faux leather at one price. The solid walnut base costs more than the walnut-finish beech base, and stretchers add a small charge.

Can I return or exchange it?

No. The Harput Sled Wood armchair is a final-sale item, so it cannot be returned or exchanged once ordered. Check the size, finish and upholstery against your room before you order, and contact us first if you want a material sample.

Please note: Because this item is made to order or specially sourced, it is final sale.
