Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry seat. PPM and PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers, nubuck is a soft brushed fabric and the off-white boucle is a looped fabric. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric, Camira Blazer is a wool cloth, and the caramel option is full-grain Italian leather. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

Gazel Round turns on a single column rising from a flat, round stainless steel disc about 17.7 in across, so there are no legs to trip over or to tangle with table bases. The disc gives the swivel a planted, pedestal feel and makes cleaning underneath quick, which is why the base shows up in restaurants and busy family kitchens. Choose polished steel for shine or brushed steel to hide fingerprints and scuffs. The cushion is built on a sprung steel frame encased in molded polyurethane foam, so it keeps its shape under constant use.

Planning notes

• Seat height 17.7 in, for 28 to 30 in tables.
• The disc sits within the chair footprint, so chairs can be set about 24 in apart.
• Brushed stainless is the easier finish to keep clean in high-traffic rooms.
• On deep carpet a disc base can rock; it is best on hard floors and low pile.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Who it is not for

• Rolling or desk use: see the Gazel Spider with casters
• Diners who need armrests: see the Gazel Arm Round
• Outdoor use

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

Does the whole chair turn?

The seat swivels on a column; the round disc stays still on the floor.

How big is the round base?

About 17.7 in (45 cm) across, within the 21 by 22 in chair footprint.

Polished or brushed: which should I pick?

Polished is mirror-bright; brushed has a satin texture that hides fingerprints and light scratches better.

Is the Gazel Round rated for commercial use?

Yes. It is suitable for residential and commercial use and holds 350 lb.

Why does the price change?

Only the seat sets the price here: faux leather is lowest, PPM, nubuck, boucle and Camira Era are in the middle, and Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather are highest. Both base finishes cost the same.

Can I re-cover it later?

Yes. The slipcover is removable and can be replaced with professional help.
