Finish. Each finish is a set combination of steel frame, solid ash legs and plywood veneer: matt black with walnut, white with natural oak, or bronze (gold) with black oak. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg and frame finishes

The Esedra stool brings the plywood-and-ash Esedra chair up to counter or bar height, adding a steel ring footrest between the four solid ash legs. The molded plywood seat is gently dished and the low back gives a place to lean without blocking the view across a kitchen island or bar. It comes in the same three set finishes as the chair, so stools and dining chairs can match across an open-plan room: walnut on matt black, natural oak on white, or black oak on bronze (gold). With no upholstery it wipes clean in seconds, which suits coffee bars, breweries and busy family kitchens.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Allow about 24 in of counter edge per stool.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the underside of the counter.
• Pair with Esedra dining chairs in the same finish for a matched kitchen and dining area.

Care

Wipe the veneer and the steel frame with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them straight away; skip abrasive pads, ammonia and silicone polishes, which cloud the lacquer and dull painted steel. Keep chairs out of long direct sun to slow color change in the veneer, and use felt or rubber glides on stone and tile. Veneer grain and tone vary from chair to chair.

The counter stool has a 25.7 in seat for 35 to 37 in counters; the bar stool has a 29.5 in seat for 40 to 42 in bar tops.

Why do prices differ?

Walnut on matt black is the entry finish, natural oak on white costs more, and black oak on bronze (gold) costs the most. The bar height costs a little more than counter in each finish.
