Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM and the flame-retardant PPM-FR are polyurethane performance leathers. Camira Era is a woven contract fabric, and Camira Blazer and Zap are wool upholstery fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Shell and base finishes

Dallas PL Wire wraps the upholstered Dallas seat in a molded plywood shell, so the back and sides show a clean band of natural or American walnut wood. The shell sits on a handle-back wire base: the steel sled rises behind the seat into a handle for pulling the stool out, and a front wire rung serves as a footrest. The wood shell protects the upholstery edges from scuffs, which is useful in restaurants and busy family kitchens. Inside, the seat has a sprung steel frame and molded foam under a removable slipcover.

Planning notes

• The counter stool's 26.5 in seat suits 37 to 39 in counters; the bar stool's 33 in seat suits 43 to 45 in bar tops. Check your height carefully, as these are taller than typical.
• At 16 in wide, plan about 21 to 22 in of counter per stool.
• Match the shell to cabinetry: natural for light oak and ash, walnut for darker woods.
• The handle extends behind the shell, so leave a little extra clearance behind the row.
• Shipping: in-stock stools ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.
