Base finishes

The Corona Piston stool puts the plywood Corona seat on a gas-lift column, so one stool adjusts from counter to bar height with a lever under the seat and swivels a full turn. The half footrest curves around the front of the column, leaving the back clear, and sits on a weighted round or square base that will not tip when people climb on. It is the flexible choice for mixed-height kitchens, studios and bars, or anywhere users of different heights share the same counter. Choose polished or brushed steel, black or gold, or upgrade to a full ring footrest.

Planning notes

• One stool covers counters from about 33 to 43 in thanks to the 21 to 31 in seat range.
• Allow about 24 in per stool so swiveling seats have room.
• Round bases are 16.5 in across; the square base is 17.7 in. Leave room for feet around them.
• Choose the full footrest if guests sit for long periods and like to rest feet all the way around.
• Shipping: in-stock stools ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

How does the height adjust?

Pull the lever under the seat to raise or lower it on the gas piston. The seat moves between 21 and 31 in.

Does it swivel?

Yes. The seat swivels a full turn on the column.

What is the difference between half and full footrest?

The half footrest curves around the front of the column. The full footrest is a complete ring, so you can rest your feet from any side.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 185 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Black and gold bases cost more than stainless steel, and the full footrest costs a little more than the half. Camira Blazer wool pads cost more than faux leather, nubuck, boucle and Camira Era pads.

Round or square base?

Round bases are 16.5 in across. The square base, in brushed stainless steel, is 17.7 in per side.
