Seat. Every Cattelan seat is carved from one solid hardwood: antique-brushed ash, sungkai, mindi in a wenge finish, teak in a walnut finish, or American walnut, which costs a little more. Grain and tone vary from seat to seat, and screens show wood slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Cattelan Piston with half footrest is the one stool that works at both a kitchen counter and a bar top: a lever under the carved wood seat raises or lowers it on a gas piston, anywhere from 20.5 to 31 in. The seat also swivels, and a curved half footrest at the front gives your feet a place to land without crowding the base. The round base is 17 in across and comes in polished or brushed stainless steel, black, polished gold or brushed gold, and a brushed steel square base is also offered. It is a practical choice for homes with two counter heights and for shared workspaces.

Care

Dust the solid wood seat with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth, then dry. Avoid soaking the wood, harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. Wipe the base with a soft, dry cloth. Each seat is cut from solid wood, so grain and color vary naturally from stool to stool.
