Seat. Every Cattelan seat is carved from one solid hardwood: antique-brushed ash, sungkai, mindi in a wenge finish, teak in a walnut finish, or American walnut, which costs a little more. Grain and tone vary from seat to seat, and screens show wood slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

Cattelan Max Swivel is the turning member of the Cattelan family: the carved solid wood seat rotates on a swivel mechanism set on four tubular steel legs with a footrest. Guests can turn to talk or slide off without pushing the stool back, which makes it a practical choice for islands that face a living area and for bars where people come and go. The base comes in black, stainless steel, a walnut finish or brass. It is backless and compact at 16 in square.

Care

Dust the solid wood seat with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth, then dry. Avoid soaking the wood, harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. Wipe the base with a soft, dry cloth. Each seat is cut from solid wood, so grain and color vary naturally from stool to stool.
