Seat. Every Cattelan seat is carved from one solid hardwood: antique-brushed ash, sungkai, mindi in a wenge finish, teak in a walnut finish, or American walnut, which costs a little more. Grain and tone vary from seat to seat, and screens show wood slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

Cattelan Galata puts the carved Cattelan wood seat on a four-leg frame of tubular steel with a welded footrest, a sturdy, café-style stool built for daily use. The legs flare slightly and end in glides, so the stool stays steady on tile and polished concrete. In black it looks Industrial, in chrome it looks clean and modern, and in brass it brings a warm, hospitality feel. Counter height is a little lower than most at a 22 in seat, which suits lower counters and standard kitchen islands.

Care

Dust the solid wood seat with a soft, dry cloth and wipe spills right away with a barely damp cloth, then dry. Avoid soaking the wood, harsh cleaners and abrasive pads. Wipe the base with a soft, dry cloth. Each seat is cut from solid wood, so grain and color vary naturally from stool to stool.
