Leg finishes

The Bottega Star is the most budget-friendly four-leg Bottega: four steel tube legs splay out from the center under the seat like the points of a star. It is a practical choice for restaurants and cafes that need many matching armchairs, and it still offers plenty of ways to dress it up. Order black or gold legs; chrome, walnut or natural veneer legs come with adjustable leveling glides for uneven floors; and the Star-Ring versions add a metal ring around the legs, brass on black or stainless steel on walnut. Any of these bases can also take a memory swivel. The seat is a sprung steel frame in molded foam with a zip-on slipcover.

Planning notes

• Seat height is 17 in, or 18 in with the memory swivel, for 29 to 30 in tables.
• Pick an adjustable-glide finish if your floor is uneven; the glides screw in and out to stop rocking.
• Allow about 26 in of table length per chair.
• The high back is not offered in PPM.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

What are adjustable glides?

Leveling glides that screw in and out at the bottom of each leg so the chair sits flat on an uneven floor. They come on the chrome, walnut veneer and natural veneer legs.

What is the Star-Ring?

A version with a metal ring around the legs: a brass ring on black legs, or a stainless steel ring on walnut legs.

Can it swivel?

Any leg finish can be ordered with a memory swivel that returns the seat to center. It raises the seat by 1 in.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather is the lowest-priced cover; PPM, velvet, boucle and Camira Era are mid-priced; Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather are highest. The adjustable-glide legs, the Star-Ring versions, the memory swivel and the high back each add to the price.

What is the seat height?

17 in on fixed legs, 18 in with the memory swivel.
