Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM and nubuck PPM are polyurethane performance leathers. Camira fabrics are woven contract fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Base finishes

The Bottega Spider gives the Bottega armchair an office-ready swivel base: an aluminum spider with slender arms reaching out to the floor, each tipped with a plastic glide. Order it on glides to stay put at a dining or meeting table, or add office casters so it rolls between a desk and a credenza; the casters raise the seat about 2 in. The base comes in polished aluminum, black, or a brass finish for a warmer metal. The shell above is a steel frame with S-shaped springs inside molded polyurethane foam, under a zip-on slipcover, and a high back is available for more support.

Planning notes

• Seat height is 17 in on glides, about 19 in with casters; casters suit hard floors or chair mats.
• Choose glides for dining tables so the chair does not roll away when you stand.
• Casters are offered on all three base finishes, including brass.
• The high back is not offered in PPM.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Glides or casters: which should I choose?

Glides keep the chair in place at a dining or meeting table. Casters let it roll at a desk; they raise the seat about 2 in and work best on hard floors or a chair mat.

Does the height adjust?

No. The Spider swivels 360 degrees but the seat height is fixed.

What is the base made of?

Aluminum, in a polished, black or brass finish.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather is the entry cover; PPM, velvet, boucle and Camira Era are mid-tier; Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather are top tier. The brass base, the casters and the high back are each extra.

Can I get casters on the brass base?

Yes. Casters can be added to the polished, black or brass base; the brass and caster upgrades are priced together.
