Base finishes

The Bottega Round mounts the Bottega armchair on a single stainless steel column over a weighted round disc, so the seat turns a full circle while the base stays put. With no legs to trip over, it is the tidiest Bottega for tight dining nooks, round tables and boardrooms where people turn to face a screen. The 17.7 in disc sits flat on the floor and spreads the load on hard surfaces and low-pile carpet. Pick polished stainless for a bright, reflective base or brushed stainless for a softer satin look. The seat has a steel frame with S-shaped springs inside molded polyurethane foam, with a zip-on slipcover.

Planning notes

• Seat height is 17 in, for standard 29 to 30 in tables.
• The 17.7 in disc base needs a flat floor; on thick carpet the chair can feel less steady.
• Allow about 26 in per chair; the round base takes less floor space than four legs.
• The high back is not offered in PPM.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Frequently asked questions

Does it swivel all the way around?

Yes. The seat turns 360 degrees on the column; the round base stays still.

Polished or brushed stainless: what is the difference?

Polished stainless is mirror-bright; brushed stainless has a satin grain that hides fingerprints and scuffs better.

How big is the base?

The round base is 17.7 in (45 cm) across.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 300 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather is the lowest price, PPM, velvet, boucle and Camira Era are mid-priced, and Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather cost most. Both base finishes cost the same; the high back is extra.

Will it work on carpet?

Yes on low-pile commercial carpet. On deep pile the flat disc sinks in and the chair feels less steady.
