Leg finishes

The Bottega Plywood rests the Bottega armchair on a molded plywood base whose legs sweep down from the seat in one bent form, a nod to Scandinavian and Mid-Century furniture. It is the lightest-looking wood option in the collection and suits cafes, homes and studios that want a soft, natural material under the upholstery. Choose natural, wenge or American walnut veneer, and add a memory swivel mechanism if you want the seat to turn and return to center; the swivel raises the seat by 1 in. The shell is a steel frame with S-shaped springs inside molded polyurethane foam under a zip-on slipcover.

Planning notes

• Seat height is 17 in, or 18 in with the memory swivel, for 29 to 30 in tables.
• Allow about 26 in of table length per chair.
• Plywood is a wood product: keep it away from standing water and direct heat.
• The high back is not offered in PPM.
• Shipping: in-stock chairs ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and leg combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Is the base solid wood?

No. The legs are molded plywood, finished natural, wenge or with an American walnut veneer.

Yes, as an option. The memory swivel lets the seat turn and then return to center, and it raises the seat by 1 in.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather is the entry cover; PPM, velvet, boucle and Camira Era cost a little more; Camira Blazer wool and Italian leather cost most. The memory swivel and the high back are each priced as add-ons. All three wood finishes cost the same.

Does the high back come in PPM?

No. The high back is offered in faux leather, fabric, wool and leather only.
