Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM-FR, S-PPM and PPM are polyurethane performance leathers that wipe clean; the off-white boucle is a soft looped fabric; Camira Era and Camira Blazer wool are woven contract fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg finishes

The Avanos Star sets the upholstered Avanos shell on four steel tube legs that meet under the seat and splay out like the points of a star. The angled legs give the chair a wide, stable footprint while keeping the profile slim from the side. Finishes run from black, chrome and gold to natural or walnut veneer, plus two versions with a connecting ring at ankle height, and any base can be ordered with adjustable caps that level the chair on uneven floors. The seat is a padded plywood pan inside a molded fiberglass shell, rated for 300 lb.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

What are adjustable caps?

They are threaded feet at the bottom of each leg. Turn them to level the chair on an uneven floor so it does not rock.

Which versions have a ring?

Black legs with a gold ring and walnut veneer legs with a stainless steel ring. The ring braces the legs and works as a footrest.

Are the veneer legs wood?

The natural and walnut options are steel tube legs wrapped in wood veneer, so they look like wood but carry the strength of steel.
