Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM-FR, S-PPM and PPM are polyurethane performance leathers that wipe clean; the off-white boucle is a soft looped fabric; Camira Era and Camira Blazer wool are woven contract fabrics. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

Leg finishes

The Avanos DR Wood stool combines four tapered solid wood legs with a metal footrest ring, so you get the warmth of wood where your eye lands and durable metal where your feet do. Walnut-finish beech is the standard leg with a chrome ring; a gold ring is a small upgrade for brass-accented kitchens, and solid American walnut legs with a chrome ring are the premium choice. The ring also braces the legs, keeping the stool rigid at bar height. On top sits the upholstered Avanos shell over a padded plywood seat, rated for 300 lb.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Allow about 24 in per stool.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between seat and counter underside.
• The metal ring takes the scuffing that would wear a wooden rung.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Wood, leather and fabric vary naturally in grain and shade from piece to piece.

Counter or bar height?

The counter stool has a 24 in seat for 35 to 37 in counters; the bar stool has a 29.5 in seat for 40 to 42 in bar tops.

What is the footrest?

A metal ring around the legs, chrome or gold. It braces the legs and holds up to daily foot traffic better than wood.

Are the legs solid wood?

Yes: solid beech in a walnut finish, or solid American walnut.

Does it swivel?

No. It is a fixed stool.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost least, PPM, S-PPM, PPM-FR, boucle and Camira Era a little more, and Camira Blazer wool the most. The gold footrest ring and solid American walnut legs each add to the price; both heights cost the same.
