Sally 41" Natural Rattan Console Table by TOV Furniture

A console table from TOV Furniture, delivered fully assembled.

The Sally 41" Natural Rattan Console Table is a console table made of mahogany, plywood and rattan. Woven rattan adds natural, airy texture. It measures 40.6"W x 15.7"D x 32.5"H with a rectangular top, and TOV rates the top for up to 165 lb. At 32.5" high it is within the usual 30–34" sofa-back range, so behind a sofa it sits at or just below the back (our guide). At 40.6" long it suits a sofa about 47" long or longer (our guide: a console about 6–12" shorter than the sofa looks balanced). Per TOV: fixed wooden frame construction provides strength and rigidity.

Best for

Best for entryways, the back of a sofa and living-room or dining-room walls. Behind a sofa, keep the console at or just below the sofa back and about 6–12" shorter than the sofa; in an entryway, hang a mirror about two-thirds the console width, 4–10" above the top, and keep 36" of walkway beside it (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Sofas shorter than about 47": a console behind a sofa looks best about 6–12" shorter than the sofa (our guide).
• Narrow hallways under about 52" wide: at 15.7" deep it needs about 36" of walkway beside it (our guide).
• Low-back sofas: at 32.5" high it would rise above a sofa back lower than about 32.5" (our guide: a console at or just below the back).
• Outdoor use: this is an indoor table; TOV makes separate indoor/outdoor concrete console tables.
