Superlight is a slim machined-aluminum arm on a weighted steel base, with a pivot at every bend that turns on three axes. Sweep the head across a drawing, swing it over a keyboard or tilt it toward a book, and it stays where you leave it. Designed by Peter Stathis and Matthew Boyko for San Francisco’s Pablo Designs, it pairs a high-output LED array that casts one clean shadow with full-range dimming, and it comes with four felt base pads (Mustard, Chestnut, Turquoise and Charcoal) so you can change its accent color whenever you like. Peter Stathis leads Virtual Studio, a San Francisco design and development studio, and has designed for clients from the Museum of Modern Art to Lava Lite. His work is in the permanent collections of MoMA, Cooper Hewitt and the Denver Art Museum, and has won Red Dot, IDEA and ICFF Editors’ awards. Matthew Boyko, a RISD- and Cranbrook-trained designer who founded Society Creative after Sony, co-designed it.

How bright is the Superlight Table Lamp compared with a regular bulb?

It gives 700 lumens of 3000K warm white light, roughly the output of a 60-watt incandescent bulb, but aimed straight at your work surface instead of spread around the room. Full-range dimming lets you turn it down for evening reading.

How far does the Superlight Table Lamp reach across a desk?

The arm reaches from 20.75 to 32.75 inches (52.7–83.2 cm) and the head sits 17 to 22 inches (43.2–55.9 cm) high. Placed toward the back corner of a typical desk, it can swing over the keyboard, a sketchbook or a laptop and then fold back out of the way.
