Upgrade an old 4" can to dimmable LED without cutting a new hole in the ceiling.

The Nora Lighting NLCBC2-451 Series is a 4" Cobalt Click Round Retrofit Reflector. The 4″ Cobalt Click LED retrofit series is cULus classified for use in existing IC or non-IC housings manufactured by Nora and others. The patented “Click” system allows the aluminum spun trim to be easily changed in the field, and spring mounting clips properly secure it to the LED module.

Retrofits an existing 4" recessed can (IC or non-IC, Nora or most other brands), using the existing bulb socket. No new housing needed.

Frequently asked questions

Will the NLCBC2-451 Series fit my existing 4" recessed cans?

Yes, that is what it is made for. Nora designs it to retrofit existing 4" recessed housings, IC or non-IC, from Nora and most other brands. Remove the old trim and bulb, screw the included medium-base adapter into the socket, plug it into the module and push the spring clips up into the can. For new construction, Nora lists NFBIC-4LMRATA, NFBIC-4INCATA, NFJB-R4, NHIC-4LMRAT, NHICCP-4LMRAT or NSIC-401QAT as compatible housings.

What dimmer should I use with the NLCBC2-451 Series?

Nora rates it for Triac or ELV / Phase or 0-10V (requires Nora LED dedicated housing with /4W suffix) dimming. Use a dimmer listed for LED loads, and check the spec sheet for Nora's dimming details.

Which color temperature should I choose?

Color temperature guide (our advice): 2700K is warm and cozy, like a classic incandescent bulb; 3000K is a soft warm white that suits kitchens and living areas; 3500K is neutral; 4000K is a cool, crisp white for garages, offices and task areas; 5000K is daylight white.

Can the NLCBC2-451 Series go in a bathroom or outdoors?

It is listed for wet locations, so showers and covered outdoor ceilings are fine.
