Mona 48" Natural Seagrass Console Table by TOV Furniture

A console table from TOV Furniture, delivered fully assembled.

The Mona 48" Natural Seagrass Console Table is a console table made of MDF and seagrass. Hand-woven seagrass adds natural, textured warmth. It measures 47.7"W x 17"D x 29.7"H with a rectangular top, and TOV rates the top for up to 90 lb. At 29.7" high it is within the usual 30–34" sofa-back range, so behind a sofa it sits at or just below the back (our guide). At 47.7" long it suits a sofa about 54" long or longer (our guide: a console about 6–12" shorter than the sofa looks balanced).

Best for

Best for entryways, the back of a sofa and living-room or dining-room walls. Behind a sofa, keep the console at or just below the sofa back and about 6–12" shorter than the sofa; in an entryway, hang a mirror about two-thirds the console width, 4–10" above the top, and keep 36" of walkway beside it (our guide).

Who this is not for

• Sofas shorter than about 54": a console behind a sofa looks best about 6–12" shorter than the sofa (our guide).
• Narrow hallways under about 53" wide: at 17" deep it needs about 36" of walkway beside it (our guide).
• Heavy loads: TOV rates the top for up to 90 lb, so keep it to a lamp, a tray and a few books rather than heavy stone decor.
• Anyone who needs it within days: it is currently on pre-order.
• Outdoor use: this is an indoor table; TOV makes separate indoor/outdoor concrete console tables.
