Where it works best

In a hallway or living room, center each sconce at roughly eye level, about 5 ft 6 in (168 cm) up, with 8 to 10 ft between fixtures. Next to a bed, place it 2 to 2.5 ft over the mattress top so the light falls on a book. On a stairway, keep each sconce the same height above the treads.

Who this is not for

It projects 5.25 in, beyond the 4 in ADA limit, so it is not for a commercial corridor or a narrow public hall. It is dry rated, so it is not for a bathroom with a shower or tub, or for outdoors. Bulbs are sold separately.
